About the Role

Our client is a highly regarded primary school in Randburg, Gauteng , seeking a Senior Foundation Phase Educator to lead and inspire learning for students in Grades R-3. This role is for an experienced and dedicated professional committed to providing an exceptional educational experience during the crucial early years of schooling. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging curriculum content, fostering a nurturing classroom environment, and promoting the holistic development of young learners. We are looking for an educator with a deep understanding of early childhood pedagogy and a passion for creating a stimulating learning atmosphere within the Randburg community. This position is vital in shaping the foundational academic and social skills of our youngest students.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans for Foundation Phase learners (Grades R-3) aligned with the national curriculum.
• Create a positive, safe, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages curiosity and active learning.
• Assess student progress through observation, formative, and summative assessments.
• Provide individualized support to students, addressing diverse learning needs and styles.
• Foster social, emotional, and physical development alongside academic learning.
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and engagement.
• Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to ensure a cohesive educational experience.
• Maintain accurate student records and classroom documentation.

Requirements

• A recognized qualification in Foundation Phase teaching (e.g., B.Ed. or Post Graduate Certificate in Education).
• A minimum of 5 years of experience teaching within the Foundation Phase.
• Deep understanding of child development and age-appropriate learning methodologies for Grades R-3.
• Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create an inclusive learning space.
