About the Role

Our client, a well-regarded primary school in Pretoria, Gauteng , is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated On-site Primary School Teacher to join their Foundation Phase team. This crucial role involves nurturing young learners during their formative years, fostering a love for learning, and developing foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, and life orientation. The ideal candidate will possess a patient demeanor, creative teaching methodologies, and a strong commitment to creating a positive and stimulating classroom environment. You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons, assessing student progress, and collaborating with parents and colleagues to support each child's holistic development. Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and age-appropriate lessons for Foundation Phase learners (Grades R-3).

• Assess and monitor student progress through observation, formative assessments, and summative evaluations.
• Provide constructive feedback to students and maintain accurate records of their academic and social development.

• Collaborate with fellow teachers, subject specialists, and school leadership to enhance curriculum delivery.

• Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school events.

Requirements

• Recognized teaching qualification (e.g., B.Ed. or Post Graduate Certificate in Education) with a specialization in Foundation Phase teaching.
• Valid South African teaching registration (SACE).
• Proven experience teaching Foundation Phase learners in a primary school setting.
• In-depth knowledge of the CAPS (Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement) curriculum.
• Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to foster positive student relationships.
• Strong understanding of child development principles and early childhood education best practices.
• Creative, patient, and empathetic approach to teaching.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with students, parents, and staff.
• Proficiency in Afrikaans and English is highly desirable.
• Must be able to work full-time and on-site at the school in Pretoria, Gauteng.
