Placements24 is seeking a Senior Foundation Phase Teacher for an on-site role in Klerksdorp, North West. The educator will lead Grades R-3, delivering engaging Foundation Phase lessons and fostering a nurturing classroom community that supports academic and socio-emotional growth.

Qualificações

• Qualified in Foundation Phase or Primary Education.

About the Role

Our client, a highly regarded primary school located in Klerksdorp, North West , is seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Foundation Phase Teacher. This position requires a passionate educator committed to providing a strong academic and socio-emotional foundation for learners in Grades R-3. You will be instrumental in creating a nurturing, stimulating, and engaging classroom environment where young learners can thrive and develop a lifelong love for learning. The ideal candidate will possess excellent pedagogical skills, a deep understanding of the Foundation Phase curriculum, and the ability to inspire curiosity and creativity. This is an on-site role, deeply embedded within the school community of Klerksdorp .

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans for Foundation Phase learners (Grades R-3) aligned with the CAPS curriculum.
• Foster the holistic development of children, including cognitive, social, emotional, and physical skills.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom atmosphere that encourages active participation and exploration.
• Assess student progress through a variety of methods, including observation, portfolios, and formal/informal evaluations.
• Provide individualized support to students requiring extra attention or challenge.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively, promoting a sense of community and respect among learners.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and developmental progress.
• Communicate regularly and effectively with parents/guardians regarding their child's development and learning journey.
• Collaborate with fellow Foundation Phase teachers and school management on curriculum planning and school initiatives.
• Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development opportunities.

Requirements

• A recognized qualification in Foundation Phase Teaching or Primary Education.
• A valid teaching qualification and SACE registration.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience teaching in the Foundation Phase.
• Thorough knowledge of the South African CAPS curriculum for Foundation Phase.
• Demonstrated ability to create dynamic and play-based learning experiences.
• Excellent classroom management skills.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and empathy skills.
• Ability to foster a nurturing and supportive learning environment.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills for administrative tasks.
• Must be willing and able to work on-site in Klerksdorp, North West .
