Placements24 is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst for a fully remote fintech team in South Africa. The role emphasizes autonomy, strategic analysis, and delivering insights that shape financial planning and decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in financial analysis or similar role.
• Proven experience in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
• Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel; BI tools a plus.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities for presenting to diverse audiences.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend identification, and forecasting.
• Develop and maintain complex financial models to support budgeting, strategic planning, and investment decisions.
• Prepare comprehensive financial reports, presentations, and dashboards for senior management and stakeholders, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data, understand business drivers, and provide financial insights.
• Identify and implement process improvements within the financial planning and analysis function to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Monitor key financial metrics and KPIs, providing actionable recommendations for performance improvement.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies and regulations.
