Placements24 is recruiting a Senior Financial Analyst for our client, a leading financial institution in Durban. The role focuses on advanced financial modeling, budgeting, and strategic planning to drive performance.

You will build and maintain financial models, analyze variances, and present findings to senior management while supporting acquisitions evaluation and FP&A activities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
• Master's degree or professional certification (CFA/CA) is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years in financial analysis, corporate finance, or investment banking.
• Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and valuation techniques.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and complex formulas.
• Experience with FP&A software (e.g., SAP BPC, Oracle Hyperion) is preferred.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Superior communication and presentation skills.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in the Banking & Finance sector is highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain complex financial models to forecast revenue and expenses.
• Conduct variance analysis and explain deviations from budget/forecast.
• Prepare detailed financial reports for senior management.
• Assist in annual budgeting and long-term strategic planning.
• Evaluate investment opportunities and perform due diligence.
• Monitor KPIs and provide actionable recommendations.
• Collaborate with departments to gather financial data.
• Support finance team on ad-hoc projects.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and internal policies.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements in finance.
