Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Family Support & Child Development Consultant in Benoni, Gauteng to guide families and promote healthy child development.

The role includes assessing needs, creating tailored support plans, counseling parents, leading parenting workshops, and linking families with community resources. A Master’s degree and minimum five years’ experience in related work are required; professional registration with SACSSP or HPCSA is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree and relevant professional registration.
• Minimum 5 years of experience working with families and children.
• Strong knowledge of child development, family systems, and therapy.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of family needs and child developmental progress.
• Develop and implement individualized support plans for families, addressing parenting skills, child behavior, and overall well‑being.
• Provide counseling and guidance to parents on various aspects of child development, from infancy through adolescence.
• Facilitate workshops and group sessions on parenting strategies, child safety, and educational engagement.
• Connect families with relevant community resources, healthcare providers, and social services.
• Advocate for families and children within the community and relevant service systems.
• Maintain accurate and confidential case records, documenting interventions and outcomes.
• Collaborate with other professionals, including educators, healthcare providers, and social workers.
