Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Automotive Performance Engineer near Rustenburg to lead ECU tuning and calibration for high-performance vehicles. You will optimize engine parameters to improve power, efficiency, and drivability, working with standalone EMS and factory remapping.

The role requires deep knowledge of engine theory, data acquisition, and tuning software. You will collaborate with technicians and stay abreast of new tuning technologies while documenting procedures and results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years hands-on automotive engine tuning/calibration experience.
• Strong understanding of internal combustion engines and ECU reprogramming.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement ECU tuning strategies for multiple vehicle platforms.
• Conduct dynamometer testing to measure and optimize engine performance.
• Analyze engine data logs to identify trends and improvements.
• Calibrate fuel delivery, ignition timing, boost control, and other engine parameters.
• Collaborate with technicians for proper hardware installation and compatibility.
