Job summary

Placements24 in Vereeniging, Gauteng, seeks a Senior Automotive Performance Tuning Specialist to optimize engine performance through ECU remapping, fuel and ignition tuning, and hardware upgrades.

You will work with Cobb Accessport, HP Tuners, and EcuTek on a range of vehicles, maintain detailed tuning records, and advise customers on performance strategies while ensuring safety standards.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience in automotive performance tuning and ECU remapping.
• Proficiency with industry-standard tuning software and hardware, including dynamometers.
• Deep understanding of internal combustion engine principles, fuel systems, ignition systems and forced induction technology.
• Experience with various makes/models, including sports cars, luxury vehicles, and race cars.
• Excellent diagnostic skills to identify and rectify engine performance anomalies.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional ECU tuning and remapping for a wide range of vehicles, including naturally aspirated and forced induction setups.
• Diagnose and resolve engine performance issues related to tuning, fuel delivery, and air intake systems.
• Utilize advanced dynamometers and tuning software to accurately measure and adjust engine parameters.
• Install and configure performance hardware, such as turbochargers, superchargers, exhaust systems, and upgraded fuel systems.
• Provide expert advice to customers on performance upgrades and tuning strategies.
• Conduct thorough pre-tuning inspections and post-tuning analysis.
• Maintain detailed records of tuning sessions, modifications performed, and customer vehicle information.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in automotive performance tuning and modification.
