Placements24 is seeking a Senior Automotive Performance Engineer in Stellenbosch, Western Cape. The role combines hands-on ECU tuning on-site with remote data analysis, focusing on optimizing power, torque, and efficiency across high-performance vehicles.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in performance tuning, deep engine knowledge, and proficiency with HP Tuners, Cobb Tuning, and EcuTek. A collaborative, detail‑oriented professional will thrive in this hybrid position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years hands-on experience in automotive performance tuning and ECU calibration.
• Strong knowledge of internal combustion engines, fuel and ignition systems, emissions control.

Responsabilités

• Perform ECU remapping and calibration for various engine types.
• Use dynos and data logging to measure and analyze performance.
• Develop tuning strategies to optimize power, torque, fuel economy, and drivability.
