Placements24 in George, Western Cape, seeks an Automotive Performance Engineer with deep ECU tuning expertise. You will develop and calibrate ECU software, optimize power, fuel economy, and drivability across multiple vehicle platforms using WinOLS, HP Tuners, and EcuTek.

Responsibilities include dyno testing, data logging, adjusting fuel maps and ignition timing, collaborating with engineering teams, ensuring compliance with emissions standards, and maintaining detailed tuning records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in automotive ECU tuning and performance calibration.
• Proficiency with engine management systems, sensors, actuators, and control strategies.
• Experience with data acquisition and analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and calibrate ECU software for performance enhancements, including power gains and improved fuel economy.
• Conduct dyno testing and data logging to analyze engine performance and validate tuning strategies.
• Interpret engine performance data and adjust fuel maps, ignition timing, and other parameters.
• Research and implement new tuning techniques and technologies for various vehicle platforms.
• Collaborate with the engineering team on hardware and software solutions for performance upgrades.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to engine performance and ECU programming.
• Maintain accurate records of tuning parameters, test results, and modifications.
• Ensure tuning activities comply with emissions standards and regulations.
