Placements24 is seeking a Senior Credit Risk Analyst to join a remote-first team with occasional Pretoria visits. You will develop and maintain credit risk models, evaluate corporate and retail credit data, and help shape risk policy.

The role requires a strong quantitative background, 5+ years in credit risk, and proficiency in R, Python, SAS and Excel. You will work remotely with flexibility, collaborating with loan origination and portfolio teams to strengthen credit decisions and risk

Qualifications

Master's degree in a quantitative field is required.
5+ years of credit risk analysis experience within a financial institution.
Experience with credit scoring, Basel frameworks, and SARB/regulatory requirements.
Proficient in statistical modeling software (R/Python/SAS) and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain credit risk models and scoring systems.
Analyze financial statements and credit data of corporate and retail clients to assess creditworthiness.
Monitor loan portfolio credit quality and identify potential areas of concern.
Conduct stress testing and scenario analysis to evaluate impact on credit risk.
Provide recommendations for credit limits, loan pricing, and risk mitigation strategies.
Contribute to credit policy formulation and procedures.
Prepare reports and presentations on credit risk exposures for senior management and regulators.
Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes.
