Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Credit Risk Analyst to join a fully remote team across South Africa. You will evaluate borrower creditworthiness, develop risk models, and support risk management strategies in a remote-first environment.

Responsibilities include analyzing financial statements, building credit scoring models, producing risk reports, monitoring loan portfolios, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while collaborating with lending teams to align loans with risk

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in credit risk analysis within Banking & Finance.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis, data modeling, and software like Excel, SAS, Python.
• Solid understanding of credit risk principles, financial markets, and regulatory landscape.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work effectively and independently in a remote team environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial statements, credit reports, and other data to assess borrower credit risk.
• Develop, implement, and monitor credit scoring models and risk management frameworks.
• Prepare detailed credit risk reports and present findings to management.
• Monitor loan portfolios for signs of deteriorating credit quality.
• Ensure compliance with credit policies and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with lending teams to structure loans within risk appetite.
