Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Risk Manager (Credit Risk) in Pretoria, SA to strengthen the risk division. You will lead framework development, model validation and reporting, guiding senior management on risk appetite within a hybrid office/remote setup.

You should have a Master's in a quantitative field, 6+ years in credit risk, and strong modeling and regulatory knowledge, with SAS/R/Python proficiency and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics or related quantitative field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in credit risk management, preferably in banking/finance.
• Strong understanding of credit risk principles, Basel regulations and credit scoring models.
• Proficiency in statistical modeling and data analysis techniques.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain the credit risk framework and policies.
• Analyze credit portfolios to identify and quantify credit risk exposures.
• Design and validate credit risk models (PD, LGD, EAD).
• Monitor key credit risk indicators and early warning signals.
• Prepare credit risk reports for senior management and regulators.
• Perform stress testing and scenario analysis for credit portfolios.
• Collaborate with business units to embed risk management practices.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior risk analysts.
