Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Civil Infrastructure Engineer for a fully remote role based in South Africa. You will lead the design and execution of roads, drainage, water supply and sanitation projects, while coordinating with clients and authorities from a remote team environment.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Pr Eng registration with ECSA, and at least eight years of relevant experience. Strong digital collaboration and project leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA required.
• Minimum 8 years in civil infrastructure design and project management.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Civil Designer and Bentley MicroStation.
• Strong leadership and remote collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of civil infrastructure projects (roads, bulk earthworks, stormwater, pipelines).
• Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and option analyses for infrastructure developments.
• Prepare detailed drawings, specifications and contract documents.
• Manage project scopes, budgets and schedules to ensure delivery.
• Coordinate with clients, authorities and other consultants via virtual platforms.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians in a remote team setting.
• Ensure designs comply with national and local standards and regulations.
• Oversee construction phase with remote technical support and issue resolution.
• Contribute to proposals and business development efforts.
