Placements24 is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer for a fully remote role in South Africa. You will lead design and management of roads, bridges, water systems, and urban development, with autonomy and stakeholder engagement across projects.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in Civil Engineering, Pr Eng with ECSA, and 8+ years’ experience in civil design and project management, proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D and modeling tools. Excellent leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Pr Eng registration with ECSA is essential.
• 8+ years of progressive civil engineering design and project management experience.
• Proven track record delivering large-scale civil infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of major civil projects from concept to construction.
• Perform complex calculations for structures, earthworks, and hydraulics.
• Ensure compliance with SA standards, codes of practice and environmental regs.
• Manage project lifecycles: planning, budgeting, resources, timelines.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
• Conduct site investigations, feasibility studies, and risk assessments.
• Coordinate with clients, government bodies and stakeholders.
• Review and approve design docs, construction plans and specs.
• Promote innovative engineering solutions and best practices.
• Prepare comprehensive project reports and proposals.
