Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer with 10+ years of progressive infrastructure experience to lead large-scale projects remotely from anywhere in South Africa. You will manage end-to-end delivery, budgets, schedules and stakeholder engagement, ensuring safety, quality and sustainability.

The role requires Pr Eng registration, a Civil Engineering degree, and proven PM experience using MS Project or Primavera P6.

Qualifications

• Senior civil engineer with 10+ years of progressive experience in civil projects.
• Minimum 5 years in project management roles on large-scale infrastructure.
• Pr Eng registration is mandatory.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules and risks.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all phases of civil projects from initiation to closure.
• Develop comprehensive project plans with scope, budgets, and timelines.
• Oversee design and construction adherence to best practices and standards.
• Manage risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants and internal teams remotely.
• Monitor progress, prepare status reports and performance reviews.
• Ensure regulatory compliance, safety, and environmental standards.
• Lead and mentor project teams to high performance.
• Manage project finances, cost control and financial reporting.
• Negotiate contracts and manage supplier/subcontractor relationships.
