Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Civil Engineer to lead infrastructure projects from remote locations within South Africa. The role focuses on design, planning, and execution of major civil works, with responsibilities spanning client liaison, budget oversight, and risk management.

The ideal candidate will hold a Pr Eng with ECSA, a Civil Engineering degree, and 8+ years of relevant experience in road, bridge or water/wastewater projects.

Qualifications

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is essential.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in civil infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit and HEC-RAS.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and planning of infrastructure projects.
• Manage project teams and budgets, proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and standards; oversee construction phases.
• Liaise with clients, project managers, contractors and stakeholders to ensure project success.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
