Placements24 in Upington, Northern Cape, is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer with extensive mining infrastructure experience to lead design and delivery of civil works. You will manage access roads, plant foundations, tailings dams, and water systems, ensuring safety, environmental compliance, and on-time execution.

You will guide a team of engineers and technicians, oversee budgets and schedules, liaise with mine operations, contractors, and regulators, and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Master's degree in Geotechnical or Mining Engineering is highly desirable.
• Minimum 8 years in civil engineering with at least 5 years in mining infrastructure.
• Pr. Eng registration with ECSA is mandatory.
• Experience in earthworks, tailings dams, and mining structures is essential.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Civil Designer and geotechnical software.

Responsabilités

• Lead design and development of mining-related civil infrastructure (haul roads, foundations, earthworks).
• Oversee tailings storage facility design and construction (embankment, liner systems).
• Develop water management plans for mining operations.
• Conduct geotechnical investigations and analyses for mining structures.
• Prepare detailed designs, drawings, and contract documents.
• Manage budgets, schedules, and resources for civil works.
• Ensure safety, environmental compliance, and industry best practices.
