Placements24 in Upington, Northern Cape, seeks an experienced Civil Engineering Manager to lead the engineering department and deliver large-scale projects. You will manage a team of civil engineers, drive design, planning, budgeting, and regulatory compliance, while advancing technical excellence and innovation.

The role demands a proven leadership track record, strong PM skills, and the ability to coordinate with clients, contractors, and regulators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Pr.Eng registration with ECSA is mandatory.
• At least 10 years of progressive civil engineering experience, with 5+ in a leadership role.
• Extensive experience managing diverse civil engineering projects (infrastructure, construction, land development).
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a team of engineers.
• Strong understanding of project management, contract administration, and risk management.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work full-time from our Upington office.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and mentor the civil engineering team with technical guidance and development.
• Oversee design, planning, and execution of all civil engineering projects.
• Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation.
• Ensure designs comply with standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with departments, clients, contractors, and regulators.
• Review and approve drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
• Implement and maintain QA/QC procedures.
• Identify and mitigate engineering risks throughout lifecycles.
• Contribute to strategic planning and business development.
• Stay current with industry best practices and regulatory changes.
