Placements24 is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer for a leading consultancy in Rustenburg, focusing on design, planning and delivery of major infrastructure projects in the North West. You will lead technical teams and work with clients, contractors and regulators to ensure quality outcomes.

The ideal candidate has a BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering, Pr. Eng with ECSA, 8+ years of infrastructure experience, and a proven track record managing large projects.

Qualifications

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Professional registration with ECSA as a Pr. Eng is mandatory.
• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in civil engineering, with a strong emphasis on infrastructure projects.
• Proven track record in managing large-scale projects from conception to completion.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and structural analysis tools.
• Excellent understanding of South African engineering standards and construction practices.
• Strong project management and leadership skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Willingness to travel within the North West region as required for project needs.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of civil engineering projects, including roads, water systems, and structural elements.
• Conduct feasibility studies, site investigations, and detailed design calculations.
• Prepare technical specifications, tender documents, and construction drawings.
• Oversee project execution, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Manage and mentor junior engineering staff, fostering a culture of learning and growth.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, regulations, and environmental standards in Rustenburg and the surrounding North West province.
• Perform site inspections and provide technical support during construction phases.
• Contribute to business development efforts and client relationship management.
