Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Banqueting and Events Manager for a premier conference and events venue in Klerksdorp, North West. You will oversee end-to-end event planning, client liaison, and on-site delivery, ensuring memorable experiences for intimate gatherings and large-scale functions.

The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lead staff, coordinate catering, AV, and security while managing budgets and timelines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in event management or banqueting coordination.
• Proven track record managing diverse events from small meetings to banquets.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
• Strong client relationships, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with event management software and MS Office.
• Diploma or degree in Hospitality/Tourism preferred.
• Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Based in or willing to relocate to Klerksdorp, North West.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute banqueting and event functions from start to finish.
• Act as primary client contact from inquiry to event completion.
• Develop proposals, menus, floor plans, and budgets with clients.
• Coordinate with catering, AV, housekeeping, and security for delivery.
• Oversee setup, breakdown, and adherence to timelines.
• Manage event staff and provide direction and motivation.
• Ensure health, safety, and hygiene standards during events.
• Post-event follow-ups to gather feedback.
• Stay updated on industry trends and competitor offerings.
• Track expenses and ensure profitability for functions.
