Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in banqueting/event service or similar supervisory role in hospitality.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a team of service staff.
• Strong understanding of food and beverage service standards and etiquette.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights.
• A keen eye for detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of presentation.
• Familiarity with event setup procedures and equipment.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to Klerksdorp, North West, as this is an on-site position.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the setup of banquets and events according to client specifications and floor plans.
• Coordinate and direct the banqueting team during service, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
• Ensure all food and beverage service standards are met, including presentation, quality, and timeliness.
• Manage staff scheduling, delegate tasks, and provide on-the-job training and guidance.
• Conduct pre-event briefings with the team to discuss event details, roles, and responsibilities.
• Monitor guest satisfaction during events and address any issues or requests promptly and professionally.
• Oversee the breakdown and cleaning of event spaces post-event, ensuring they are left in impeccable condition.
• Maintain inventory of banqueting supplies, linens, and equipment, reporting any damages or shortages.
• Uphold strict health, safety, and hygiene standards in all operational areas.
• Collaborate with the Catering Manager and other departments to ensure seamless event planning and execution.
