Job summary
Placements24 seeks a Senior Automotive Systems Engineer in Vereeniging to lead the design, integration and validation of advanced automotive electronic systems, including powertrain control, chassis systems and ADAS.
You will drive system architecture, set requirements and testing plans, oversee hardware-software integration, and mentor engineers, all within a hybrid work structure that blends office and remote collaboration.
Qualifications
- Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 8 years in automotive systems engineering with embedded focus.
- Strong knowledge of automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet).
- Experience with requirements mgmt tools and system modeling tools.
Responsibilities
- Lead system architecture design for ECUs and related components.
- Define system requirements, specifications and test plans.
- Oversee hardware/software integration ensuring seamless functionality.
- Conduct system validation and verification on simulations and real vehicles.
- Troubleshoot complex system-level issues and drive resolution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices.
