Placements24 in Stellenbosch is seeking an experienced Lead Automotive Systems Engineer to guide vehicle integration and development efforts. This hybrid role requires leading a team of engineers and overseeing architecture, integration, and validation across multiple vehicle platforms.

You will drive system definition, manage requirements, and mentor engineers while collaborating with R&D, manufacturing, and product management to deliver cutting-edge automotive solutions for the Western Cape

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related automotive field.
• Experience leading complex automotive projects.
• Deep knowledge of vehicle dynamics, powertrain control, electrical architecture, and embedded software integration.
• Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, SysML, and requirements management tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead the definition, design, and architecture of integrated automotive systems, encompassing powertrain, chassis, electrical, and software components.
• Oversee the system integration process, ensuring all subsystems work harmoniously and meet specified performance requirements.
• Develop and execute comprehensive system validation and verification plans, including simulation, bench testing, and vehicle testing.
• Manage system requirements throughout the product lifecycle, from conception to production release.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of automotive systems engineers.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and product management, to achieve project goals.
