Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Design Engineer to join our advanced engineering team in Stellenbosch. You will lead design efforts for automotive components and systems, ensuring performance, safety, and regulatory compliance throughout development.

The role requires 8+ years in automotive design, expertise in CATIA or Siemens NX and CAE tools (ANSYS, Abaqus), and strong leadership and communication skills. A hybrid work model offers office and remote flexibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in automotive component design.
• Expertise in 3D CAD and CAE tools (CATIA, Siemens NX, ANSYS, Abaqus).
• Strong project management and leadership skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of complex automotive components and subsystems.
• Conduct stress, thermal, and vibration analysis using simulation tools.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to optimize for mass production (DFM).
• Oversee testing and validation of component performance and durability.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team growth.
• Stay current with automotive trends and technologies.
