Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Audio Engineer to join our vibrant Arts & Entertainment team in Midrand, Gauteng. You will lead the audio production workflow across recording, editing, mixing, and mastering, shaping sonic landscapes for interactive and immersive media.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of professional experience, strong skills in Pro Tools/Logic/Cubase, and a compelling portfolio. Familiarity with real-time audio engines like Wwise or FMOD is a plus; you will mentor junior

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of professional audio engineering experience.
Proficiency with DAWs: Pro Tools, Logic Pro X or Cubase.
Portfolio showcasing diverse audio work.
Bachelor's degree in Audio Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
Familiarity with real-time audio engines like Wwise or FMOD is a plus.

Responsibilities

Oversee the entire audio production pipeline, from recording and editing to mixing and mastering.
Design and implement complex soundscapes for various entertainment mediums, adhering to project specifications and artistic direction.
Collaborate closely with creative teams, including game designers, filmmakers, and producers, to integrate audio seamlessly into projects.
Operate and maintain professional audio recording and mixing equipment, ensuring optimal performance and quality.
Troubleshoot and resolve any audio-related technical issues that may arise during production or implementation.
Stay abreast of the latest advancements in audio technology and techniques, incorporating them into workflows where beneficial.
Manage audio assets, ensuring proper organization, version control, and delivery.
Conduct quality assurance checks on all audio deliverables to guarantee high standards.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior audio engineers and sound designers within the team.
