Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in game sound design, with at least two shipped AAA titles in a senior capacity.
• Strong portfolio showcasing diverse sound design skills and creative problem-solving.
• Bachelor's degree in Audio Engineering, Music Technology, Game Design, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience with synthesis, sound manipulation and DSP, and familiarity with Unreal Engine or Unity is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and mix high-quality sound effects, Foley, and ambient audio for video games across multiple platforms.
• Collaborate with game designers, engineers, and narrative teams to align audio with project vision and gameplay mechanics.
• Develop and maintain a library of sound assets with consistent quality for project requirements.
• Utilize DAWs and middleware (Wwise, FMOD) for sound implementation and real-time audio manipulation.
• Mentor junior sound designers and support their professional growth within the Johannesburg studio.
• Conduct field recordings and source material, employing creative techniques for unique sonic textures.
• Troubleshoot and resolve audio-related technical issues throughout development.
• Stay updated on trends and technologies in game audio and interactive sound design.
