Placements24 is seeking a Senior Sound Designer to join our client's Johannesburg studio. You will craft immersive soundscapes for interactive projects, shaping emotional resonance and overall audio quality in collaboration with designers and engineers.

You will design, record, edit, and mix sounds, implement audio with Wwise/FMOD, and mentor junior designers. A strong portfolio and 5+ years in game audio are required, with a passion for cutting-edge sound in interactive media.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Audio Engineering, Music Production, Game Design, or related field.

Responsabilidades

• Design, implement, and mix high-quality sound effects for interactive projects.
• Collaborate with game designers and other audio team members to integrate sound into narrative and mechanics.
• Record, edit, and process audio assets to meet technical and artistic standards.
• Develop and maintain audio middleware integration (Wwise or FMOD) for dynamic playback.
• Troubleshoot audio-related issues during development.
• Mentor junior sound designers and share best practices.
• Stay current with audio tech trends in interactive entertainment.
• Manage audio asset libraries with proper documentation.

Educación

Bachelor's degree in Audio Engineering or related field

5+ years in sound design for games/interactive media

Strong listening and critical listening skills

Excellent teamwork and communication
