Placements24 is seeking a Senior Sound Designer in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal, to shape the auditory experience of interactive projects. You will craft high-fidelity sound effects, vocal work, and dynamic audio systems, collaborating closely with designers and directors.

The role requires 5+ years in interactive audio, proficiency in DAWs (Pro Tools, Reaper, Cubase) and middleware (Wwise, FMOD). A collaboration-driven mindset and a passion for entertainment will help drive innovative audio

Qualifications

5+ years of professional experience in sound design for interactive media.
Proficiency with DAWs and advanced audio editing/mixing techniques.
Experience with interactive audio middleware (Wwise, FMOD).
Strong understanding of acoustics, signal processing, and psychoacoustics.

Responsibilities

Design, create, and implement high-fidelity sound effects for interactive projects.
Collaborate with game designers and directors to align audio vision with project goals.
Record, edit, and mix voice-overs, foley, and sound effects to broadcast standards.
Manage and organize audio assets with efficient workflows and version control.
Develop interactive audio systems using middleware like Wwise or FMOD.
Provide guidance to junior sound designers and share knowledge.
Troubleshoot and resolve audio issues throughout development.
Stay updated on trends in sound design and interactive audio.
