Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Analytical Scientist to advance pharmaceutical analysis capabilities in Soweto. You will develop, validate, and implement robust analytical methods to ensure drug quality, safety, and efficacy.

The role involves characterising substances, investigating deviations, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate has an MSc or PhD in a relevant field and at least 5 years of pharmaceutical analytical experience, with strong proficiency in HPLC/UPLC and other

Qualifications

Master of Science or Doctorate in Chemistry/Analytical Chemistry or Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Minimum of 5 years in pharmaceutical analytical development and testing.
Proficiency with analytical instrumentation, especially HPLC/UPLC.
Solid understanding of GMP, ICH guidelines and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

Develop, validate, and implement analytical methods for drugs and related materials.
Perform routine and non-routine analytical testing using HPLC/UPLC, GC, UV-Vis, dissolution, and Karl Fischer titration.
Analyze data, troubleshoot instruments, and investigate out-of-specification results.
Author validation protocols, SOPs, and stability study protocols.
Collaborate with QC/QA and development teams to support product lifecycle and ensure GMP compliance.
