Placements24 seeks an experienced Senior Analytical Scientist to lead method development and validation for pharmaceutical products in Rustenburg. You will ensure quality, safety, and efficacy through rigorous analytical testing and regulatory-compliant processes.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in analytical chemistry within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Expertise in method development and validation according to ICH guidelines.
• Proficiency with a range of analytical instrumentation, including HPLC, UPLC, GC, MS, FTIR, and dissolution apparatus.
• Strong understanding of pharmacopoeial methods (e.g., USP, EP) and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of a team in Rustenburg .

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and validate analytical methods for the characterization of pharmaceutical ingredients and finished products using techniques like HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, and dissolution testing.
• Perform routine and non-routine analytical testing to support product development, stability studies, and quality control release.
• Troubleshoot analytical instrumentation and methods, ensuring accuracy and reliability of results.
• Interpret analytical data, prepare comprehensive reports, and present findings to project teams and management.
• Ensure all analytical activities comply with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and relevant regulatory guidelines.
• Contribute to the technical transfer of analytical methods to QC laboratories and provide training to junior scientists.
