Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Senior Analytical Chemist to join a pharmaceutical R&D and quality control division in Richards Bay. You will lead method development, validation, and routine analyses to ensure product safety and compliance.

The ideal candidate holds a Masters or PhD in Chemistry with 5+ years of analytical pharma experience, hands-on HPLC, GC-MS, UV-Vis, dissolution testing, and strong GMP/ICH knowledge, plus LIMS proficiency. On-site role in Richards Bay.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Chemistry or related field.
• 5+ years in analytical chemistry within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Experience with HPLC, GC-MS, UV-Vis, and dissolution testing.
• Strong GMP/ICH knowledge and data integrity.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and implement analytical methods for drug substance and drug product testing using HPLC, GC-MS, UV-Vis, and spectroscopy.
• Perform routine and non-routine analysis of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products to meet specifications.
• Operate and maintain analytical instrumentation with calibration and performance checks.
• Investigate OOS results and deviations, implementing CAPAs.
• Prepare analytical reports and validation documentation, including stability study protocols.
• Ensure GMP compliance and regulatory guidelines in all activities.
