Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Analytical Scientist to join its pharmaceutical development team in Mossel Bay. The role centers on developing, validating, and implementing analytical methods for characterizing and QC of drug substances and products, leveraging instruments like HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, and dissolution testing.

You will work in a quality-driven environment to support drug development programs, ensure compliance with ICH and GMP, and contribute to safe, effective medicines

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in pharmaceutical analytical development.
• Hands-on experience with HPLC and GC.
• Proficiency in method validation principles and regulatory requirements (ICH).
• GMP-compliant environment experience in Mossel Bay.

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate analytical methods for raw materials, intermediates, and finished products.
• Perform routine and non-routine analysis per protocols and guidelines.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation and resolve method issues.
• Write validation reports, procedures, and technical summaries.
• Collaborate with QA, regulatory, and formulation teams to support development programs.
