Placements24 in Mossel Bay is seeking a Senior Pharmaceutical Chemist to lead the Analytical Development team. You will develop, validate and implement robust analytical methods for drugs and raw materials, ensuring data accuracy for regulatory submissions.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in method development/validation, strong HPLC and MS experience, and a solid grasp of ICH and GMP. This role offers growth and access to advanced instrumentation in Mossel Bay.

Qualifications

• PhD or MSc in Analytical/Pharmaceutical chemistry.
• 7+ years in analytical method development and validation.
• Extensive hands-on experience with HPLC and MS.
• Strong understanding of ICH, GMP, and regulatory submissions.
• Proven ability to lead projects and mentor staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and validation of analytical methods (HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, KF Titration) for drugs and finished products.
• Execute validation protocols per ICH guidelines.
• Troubleshoot and optimize existing methods for efficiency and robustness.
• Collaborate with formulation, QC, and regulatory teams on lifecycle management.
• Prepare validation summaries, transfer documentation, and reports.
• Mentor junior analytical chemists and ensure GLP/GMP compliance.
