Placements24 in Mossel Bay is seeking a Senior Chemist to lead the Analytical Development team. You will develop and validate analytical methods for raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products, ensuring quality and regulatory compliance.

You will operate instruments such as HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, FTIR, and MS, mentor junior chemists, analyze data, and prepare reports in a demanding industrial setting with a focus on scientific rigor.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in Analytical Chemistry or related field.
• 6+ years in analytical method development and validation.
• Hands-on with HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, FTIR and related techniques.
• Strong knowledge of GLP/GMP and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and implement analytical methods for materials and products.
• Operate and maintain analytical instruments (HPLC, GC, spectroscopy, MS).
• Troubleshoot methods/instrumentation to ensure data integrity.
• Analyze data, interpret results, and prepare comprehensive reports.
• Mentor junior chemists in techniques and lab practices.
• Ensure lab activities comply with GLP/GMP and regulations.
