About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Pharmaceutical Chemist to lead their Analytical Development team in Mossel Bay . This pivotal role involves developing, validating, and implementing robust analytical methods for the characterization and quality control of pharmaceutical products and raw materials. You will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of analytical data, supporting product development, manufacturing, and regulatory submissions. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of analytical chemistry techniques, regulatory standards, and a proven track record in method development and validation within the pharmaceutical industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and validation of analytical methods (e.g., HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, KF Titration) for drug substances, intermediates, and finished products.
• Execute method validation protocols according to ICH guidelines and regulatory expectations.
• Troubleshoot and optimize existing analytical methods to improve efficiency, sensitivity, and robustness.
• Collaborate closely with formulation scientists, quality control, and regulatory affairs teams to support product lifecycle management.
• Prepare detailed analytical development reports, validation summaries, and method transfer documentation.
• Mentor and guide junior analytical chemists, providing technical expertise and support.
• Ensure all analytical activities are performed in compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and GMP requirements.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or Master's degree in Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in analytical method development and validation within the pharmaceutical industry.
