Placements24 invites applications for a Senior Chemist specializing in Analytical Chemistry to join our quality control and R&D laboratory in Polokwane. You will contribute to ensuring the purity, efficacy, and safety of products through rigorous testing and method development.

You will operate advanced analytical instrumentation (HPLC, GC, MS, spectroscopy), develop and validate methods, troubleshoot manufacturing issues, and document processes while ensuring GLP/GMP compliance and high-quality

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in analytical method development and validation.
• Extensive experience with chromatography (HPLC, GC) and mass spectrometry (MS).
• Proficiency in spectroscopic techniques (UV-Vis, IR, NMR) is a plus.
• Strong understanding of quality control principles and regulatory guidelines (e.g., GMP, GLP).
• Excellent analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and meticulous attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and implement analytical methods for raw materials, intermediates, and finished products using techniques such as HPLC, GC, MS, and spectroscopy.
• Perform routine and non-routine chemical analyses to ensure product quality and compliance with specifications.
• Operate and maintain sophisticated analytical instrumentation, ensuring optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot analytical challenges and investigate out-of-specification (OOS) results.
• Collaborate with R&D and production teams to provide analytical support for new product development and process improvements.
• Prepare detailed analytical reports, document experimental procedures, and maintain accurate laboratory records.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) in Polokwane.
