Job summary

Placements24 client seeks an experienced Senior Analytical Chemist to strengthen the Quality Control team at a pharmaceutical site in Stellenbosch. You will lead method development, validation, and routine analysis to ensure product quality and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include developing/validating methods (HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, FTIR, dissolution), troubleshooting OOS, implementing CAPAs, maintaining GMP-compliant lab practices, and mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry.
• Minimum 5 years in pharmaceutical QC or analytical development.
• Extensive experience with HPLC, GC, and wet chemistry.
• Thorough understanding of GMP, ICH, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and implement analytical methods for raw materials and finished products.
• Perform routine testing using HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, FTIR, and dissolution.
• Investigate OOS results and implement CAPAs.
• Maintain lab equipment and ensure calibration per GMP.
• Review and approve analytical data and reports.
• Mentor and train junior analytical chemists and technicians.
