Job summary

Boardroom Appointments is seeking a driven Sales Representative for the manufacturing, engineering, machinery, and mining sectors. The role is office-based in Meadowdale, Johannesburg with travel to Johannesburg, Durban, Port Elizabeth, Cape Town and surrounding areas.

You will generate and convert sales opportunities, build lasting client relationships, prepare quotations, and meet monthly targets while reporting to the Sales Manager.

Qualifications

• Previous sales experience in manufacturing, engineering, machinery, mining or related industries.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluency in Afrikaans is advantageous.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel for client meetings.
• Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
• Computer literacy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Self-motivated, energetic, and target-driven.

Responsibilities

• Generate and convert sales opportunities into business growth.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
• Conduct client visits and meetings across Johannesburg and surrounding areas.
• Follow up on leads provided by the business.
• Identify new market opportunities and potential clients within relevant sectors.
• Prepare quotations and assist with sales proposals.
• Maintain accurate client records and update sales activities.
• Achieve monthly sales targets and KPIs.
• Provide regular sales reports and updates to the Sales Manager.
• Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the products and services offered.

Job Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales growth, developing and maintaining strong client relationships, and identifying new business opportunities. This role is suited to a self-motivated individual with strong sales and negotiation skills who enjoys client engagement, networking, and expanding market presence.

The position is office-based in Meadowdale, with regular travel required for client visits and meetings.

Additional Information

• The successful candidate will report directly to the Sales Manager.
• The existing sales team consists of four employees.
• Support will be provided through lead generation and account management functions.
• Company leads will be provided.
• Company cellphone and laptop provided.
• Company uniform provided.
• Company vehicle provided for business-related travel. The vehicle may not be taken home.
• The recruitment process will consist of one interview with the Sales Manager.
• A three-month probation period will apply.
