About our client
Our client is a hospitality technology company helping restaurants simplify payments and deliver a better experience for their guests. With a growing presence across international markets, the business is expanding its sales development team in South Africa to reach more independent hospitality businesses across the UK. This is an opportunity to join a growing commercial team, build strong outbound sales skills and help create new business opportunities in an international market.
The role
You will run outbound prospecting into smaller, independent hospitality businesses in the UK. You’ll use cold calls, tailored emails and LinkedIn to start conversations and book qualified meetings for the Account Executives. While this is a pure outbound sales role, you won’t need to find your own prospects: you’ll work from a curated lead list and focus your time on conversations.
Why this role exists
Independent hospitality businesses represent an important growth opportunity for our client. This role will focus on building relationships with these businesses through consistent, thoughtful outreach, helping more venues discover how the platform can simplify payments and improve the guest experience.
What you will do
- Outbound prospecting (core): Reach out to prospective customers through cold calls, tailored emails and LinkedIn. Plan your outreach around the times when hospitality venues are most available to take calls, using focused calling sessions to build relationships and generate interest.
- Lead qualification: Work through a curated list of leads, with new leads being provided each month. Qualify or disqualify each one against the ideal customer profile, and feed back on lead quality so the lists keep improving.
- Meeting booking: Book qualified meetings for the Account Executives, meet with them weekly to hand over meetings and act on their feedback about meeting quality and fit.
- Product knowledge: Learn the value proposition well enough to open conversations confidently and spark interest. You won’t run the full sales cycle, but you will need to speak credibly about what the product does.
- CRM: Log follow-up notes and activity in Salesforce, and use its reports to track your own numbers.
- Coaching and team rhythm: Join daily one-to-one check-ins with your manager and the wider team’s meetings, and act on coaching to keep improving.
What we are looking for
- Confidence on the phone: You are outgoing and comfortable making high volumes of cold calls. Within about two weeks of starting, you can handle conversations with prospects without someone listening in on every call.
- Consistency: Sales development can be repetitive. You keep your activity steady every week, not in bursts.
- Coachability: You take feedback well, act on it quickly and look for ways to get better.
- Energy and initiative: You bring energy to your calls and to the team, and you take ownership of your own results without close supervision.
- Communication: Clear, professional spoken and written English, suited to calling and emailing UK hospitality businesses.
- Background: Some experience in sales, particularly outbound sales or cold calling, is preferred. Experience in hospitality and familiarity with Salesforce would be an advantage. We’re looking for someone who is eager to build on their existing sales experience and develop their skills in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
- Career direction: You want to start or build a career in sales and see this role as a strong foundation for it.
What you will get
- Commission on the opportunities you create and on the deals that close from the meetings you book
- Daily one-to-one coaching from an experienced SDR Manager
- Full inclusion in the UK sales team, including team meetings and weekly catch-ups with the Account Executives
- A curated lead list, so your time goes on conversations rather than research
- A strong foundation for a career in sales
