Job summary

Clicks Knysna is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in ensuring the efficient operation of the store and delivering service excellence. You will drive sales, manage stock and staff, and maintain promotional standards in a busy retail setting.

The role requires a Grade 12 with Maths/English and ideally a Retail/Business Management degree, plus at least 1 year in an assistant store management role or completion of the Clicks Trainee Store Management Programme.

Qualifications

• Essential: Grade 12 with Maths 50% and English 50%.
• Desirable: Degree in Retail/Business Management.
• Minimum 1 year in an assistant store management role within retail/FMCG or completion of Clicks Trainee Store Management Programme.
• Financial management experience (budgets, profit & loss statements, financial ratios, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Support Store Manager to drive sales and customer loyalty and meet targets.
• Drive sales through promotions, cross-selling and upselling while maintaining excellent service.
• Manage stock, expenses, shrinkage, housekeeping and administration.
• Execute in-store visual merchandising to align with brand standards.
• Motivate and direct staff; cover in absence of Store Manager.
• Maintain daily staff schedules in line with labour policy.
• Deliver great customer experience and drive club card participation.
• Handle weekly time and attendance and HR records.
