Job summary

Clicks Group in Cape Town seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in driving sales and delivering service excellence. You will lead staff, manage promotions, merchandising and daily store operations to meet sales targets and brand standards.

The role requires 2+ years in a similar retail/FMCG setting, Grade 12 (Maths/English), and ideally a relevant degree. The position offers permanent, full-time employment in a dynamic Clicks environment.

Qualifications

• Essential: Grade 12 (Maths 50% and English 50%)
• Desirable: Degree in Relevant Retail/Business Management
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in an assistant store management role within a retail/FMCG store operations environment or successful completion the Clicks Trainee Store Management Programme
• Financial management experience (budgets, profit and loss statements, financial ratios, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Drive and maximise sales through execution of promotions and cross-selling, delivering superior customer service.
• Efficiently manage store operations including expenses, stock, shrinkage, housekeeping and admin.
• Lead in-store visual merchandising to meet brand appearance and promotional standards.
• Motivate and direct staff; cover in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Maintain daily staff schedules in line with labour policy and ensure appropriate staffing.
• Drive customer service initiatives to boost loyalty and club card participation.
• Complete weekly time and attendance and HR records for submission.
