Job summary

Clicks Group in Potchefstroom is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in driving sales, delivering service excellence, and maintaining store standards. You will manage daily operations, budgets, stock, labour, and merchandising, while supervising staff and ensuring promotional activities are executed to maximise profitability and customer loyalty.

The role requires Grade 12 and ideally a relevant retail/business degree, with at least 2 years in a retail management

Qualifications

Essential: Grade 12 with Maths 50% and English 50%
Desirable: Degree in Retail or Business Management
Minimum 2 years in an assistant store management or trainee program
Financial management experience is preferred

Responsibilities

Drive and maximise sales through promotions and cross-selling.
Manage store operations including expenses, stock, shrinkage and housekeeping.
Lead in-store visual merchandising to meet brand standards.
Motivate and direct staff and cover for the Store Manager.
Maintain daily staffing schedules in line with labour policies.
Deliver customer service initiatives to enhance loyalty and club card participation.
Handle administrative duties such as timekeeping and HR records.
