Job summary

Clicks Group in Johannesburg seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in achieving sales targets and delivering exceptional customer service. The role requires handling store operations, stock control, and staff scheduling while upholding brand standards.

The successful candidate will have Grade 12, a retail/FMCG background, and financial management awareness, with opportunities for career progression within the Clicks Trainee Store Management Programme.

Qualifications

• Essential: Grade 12 (Maths 50% and English 50%).
• Desirable: Degree in Relevant Retail/Business Management.
• Minimum 1 year's experience in an assistant store management role within a retail/FMCG store operations environment or successful completion the Clicks Trainee Store Management Programme.
• Financial management experience (budgets, profit and loss statements, financial ratios, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Drive sales and maximise through promotional activities and cross- and up-selling with superior customer service.
• Efficiently execute all store operations: expenses, stock management, shrinkage, housekeeping and administration.
• In-store visual merchandising to meet promotional standards and brand image.
• Support Store Manager by motivating staff and directing in their absence.
• Assist in maintaining daily staff schedules in line with labour policy.
• Execute customer service initiatives to improve loyalty and club card targets.
• Attend to administrative responsibilities including weekly time and attendance and HR records.
