Job summary

Clicks Group in Durban is seeking an Assistant Store Manager (Large) to support the Store Manager in driving sales, managing stock and operations, and delivering exceptional customer service in a busy Clicks store.

The role focuses on achieving financial targets, executing promotions, and ensuring compliant store practices while leading a team and maintaining strong visual merchandising and customer loyalty.

Qualifications

• Essential: Grade 12 (Maths 50% and English 50%)
• Desirable: Degree in Relevant Retail/Business Management
• Minimum 1 year’s experience in an assistant store management role in retail/FMCG
• Financial management experience (budgets, profit and loss statements, financial ratios, etc.)

Responsibilities

• To support the Store Manager in ensuring the efficient operation of the store and service excellence by driving sales and building customer loyalty in order to meet sales, profit and compliance targets, leading to a competitive advantage for the brand.
• To achieve the stores financial performance by driving and maximising sales through promotions and cross-selling/up-selling initiatives and superior customer service.
• To efficiently execute all store operations including expenses, stock management, shrinkage, housekeeping and administration.
• To execute in-store visual merchandising and ensure promotional standards and brand appearance are met.
• To assist in maintaining staff motivation and scheduling in line with labour policies and staffing models.
• To implement customer service initiatives to enhance the customer experience and loyalty.
