Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead strategic retail expansion across Polokwane, Limpopo and surrounding areas. You will drive plans from site acquisition to store openings, balancing on-site oversight with remote planning in a hybrid role.

The ideal candidate brings 6+ years of retail development experience, strong commercial acumen, and proven ability to deliver complex projects on time and within budget. Travel across the Limpopo region is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in project management, with a focus on retail development/expansion.
• Proven track record delivering multiple retail projects on time and within budget.
• Strong understanding of retail operations, design, and construction processes.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage detailed project plans for new store openings and refurbishments.
• Oversee site selection, lease negotiations, and architectural design processes.
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams for timely, cost-effective fit-outs.
• Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure financial targets are met.
• Ensure compliance with brand standards, local regulations, and health and safety requirements.
• Identify and mitigate project risks and communicate with stakeholders.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress and quality of work.
• Lead procurement of fixtures, fittings, and equipment for openings.
• Oversee project close-out, snagging, and handover to operations.
