Job summary

Kerzner International, at One&Only Cape Town, is seeking a Restaurant Manager to oversee the restaurant and pool dining operations. You will ensure exceptional guest experiences while maintaining service quality, safety, and efficiency across floor management, reservations, table planning and events.

You will lead and develop the restaurant team, monitor budgets and labour costs, and collaborate with Human Resources and other departments to drive productivity and profitability.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in serving alcoholic beverages.
• Knowledge of the various outlets and cuisine and its service styles.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience at a full service restaurant as a Supervisor or Captain or similar.
• Certification in wine, liquor and food handling courses.
• Fair knowledge of wines, its characteristics and supplies, inclusive of cocktails, spirits, brandies and whisky.
• Ability to provide legible communication.
• Ability to compute good mathematical calculations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee restaurant and pool dining operations to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
• Manage floor operations, reservations, table planning and staff allocation.
• Coordinate special events and functions within the restaurant.
• Monitor departmental performance, control labour costs and manage budgets to improve profitability.
• Recruit, train and develop the restaurant team; conduct performance appraisals and foster positive employee relations.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene and security standards; collaborate with other hotel departments.
