About the Role

Our client, a highly successful and popular restaurant group, is seeking an experienced and charismatic Restaurant General Manager to lead one of their flagship establishments in Bloemfontein, Free State . This role is critical to ensuring the smooth and profitable operation of the restaurant, maintaining exceptional standards of service, food quality, and guest satisfaction. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with a passion for hospitality, excellent operational skills, and a proven ability to manage a team and drive sales. You will be responsible for all aspects of the restaurant's performance, from staff management and customer service to financial oversight and inventory control in Bloemfontein .

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring efficiency and high standards.
• Manage, train, schedule, and motivate restaurant staff, including servers, kitchen staff, and hosts.
• Ensure consistent delivery of excellent customer service and guest satisfaction.
• Manage inventory, ordering, and stock control to minimize waste and control costs.
• Oversee food and beverage quality, presentation, and preparation.
• Manage the restaurant budget, P&L, and financial performance, aiming to achieve sales targets.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
• Implement and uphold company policies and procedures.
• Handle guest feedback and resolve any issues or complaints effectively.
• Collaborate with the marketing team on local promotions and events.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in restaurant management, with at least 2-3 years in a General Manager or Assistant General Manager role.
• Proven ability to lead and manage a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong understanding of restaurant operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house functions.
• Excellent financial management skills, including P&L, budgeting, and cost control.
