Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an energetic Resorts Activities Director to lead the entertainment and recreational programming at a premier coastal resort in Richards Bay. You will design and manage a diverse calendar of activities for guests of all ages, leading a team of coordinators and entertainers to create memorable experiences.

Key responsibilities include budgeting, scheduling, and collaborating with other departments to deliver engaging events, while ensuring guest safety and satisfaction

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a calendar of daily, weekly, and seasonal activities.

• Collaborate with Food & Beverage and Marketing for successful events.

About the Role

Our client is seeking an energetic and creative Resort Activities Director to lead the entertainment and recreational programming at their premier coastal resort in Richards Bay. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing a diverse calendar of activities and events for guests of all ages, ensuring memorable and engaging experiences. You will lead a team of activity coordinators and entertainers, working to create a vibrant atmosphere that enhances guest satisfaction and resort appeal. This is a key position within the hospitality sector, contributing to the overall success of a beloved KwaZulu-Natal destination.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive schedule of daily, weekly, and seasonal activities, including sports, games, crafts, and live entertainment.
• Recruit, train, supervise, and schedule a team of activity staff and entertainers.
• Manage the budget for the activities department, including procurement of supplies and equipment.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during activities and events.
• Collaborate with other resort departments (e.g., Food & Beverage, Marketing) to coordinate successful events.
• Gather guest feedback and continuously improve activity offerings based on guest satisfaction.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a similar role within the hospitality or tourism industry, preferably in resort or hotel management.
• Excellent organizational, planning, and event management skills.
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
• Creative flair and the ability to develop engaging and innovative programs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact positively with guests and staff.
• First Aid certification is a plus.
