Job summary

Bonafide Human Capital is seeking a Remuneration Manager for our client’s Head Office in Johannesburg. The role reports to the Personnel Services Executive and focuses on high-volume payroll operations and system interfaces.

The ideal candidate has 10 years of payroll management experience, including 3+ years in management, with strong Payspace and Unique payroll system skills, and solid knowledge of applicable labour laws.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification and/or relevant payroll related qualification.
• 10 years relevant payroll management experience, with 3+ years in a managerial payroll role and 3+ years in payroll system/interface work.
• Subject matter expert for payroll, system, taxes and complex processing.
• Experience in payroll implementation and interfaces to other applications.
• Payroll programming skills are a plus.
• Experience with monthly and weekly payrolls (>1000 employees) with multiple employment conditions.
• Strong financial and accounting acumen; ability to perform complex reconciliations and journals.
• Hands-on experience with Payroll and Time & Attendance systems (Unique/Payspace at parameter level).
• In-depth knowledge of Labour laws (LRA, BCEA, COIDA, OSHA, POPI, Income Tax, Wage Determination) and CCAs.
• Valid Code 08 (EB) driver’s license.
• Advanced MS Office, especially Excel.
• Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

The ideal applicant will possess the following: -

• Tertiary qualification and/ or relevant payroll related qualification.


• 10 years relevant Payroll management experience of which at least 3 must be in a managerial payroll role and at least 3 years in payroll system/implementation/interface role.


• Subject matter expert for payroll, payroll system, payroll taxes and complex payroll processing.


• Proven track record and experience in payroll implementation and interfaces to other applications is essential.


• Payroll programming skills will be a huge advantage.


• Extensive experience in monthly and weekly payrolls in excess of 1000 employees with multiple conditions of employment.


• Solid financial and accounting acumen.


• Ability to perform complex reconciliations and journals.


• Extensive knowledge / hands-on experience of Payroll and Time & Attendance systems (Unique/Payspace payroll experience at parameter level is a prerequisite).


• In-depth knowledge of the relevant Labour laws i.e. LRA, BCEA, COIDA, OSHA, POPI, INCOME TAX ACT, Wage Determination Act, as well as Bargaining Council Agreements and Payroll best practices.


• Code 08 (EB) drivers’ lic.


• Advanced MS Office, particularly Excel is essential.


• Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills.


• Payspace and budget exp. a must.
